This year, on February 6th, an estimated 10,000 people will gather at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California to honor what would have been the 100th birthday of former President Ronald Reagan.
Reagan, who served as president from 1981 -1989 and died in 2004 at the age of 93, is widely considered the patron saint of conservatives.
Many people know that he was a famous movie actor before becoming the 40th President of the United States.
But did you know that The Gipper, as he was known, got his start in radio broadcasting at a little known chiropractic college in Davenport, Iowa?
Ronald Reagan was a newscaster for W.O.C. Radio, which stood for “Wonders Of Chiropractic” and was broadcast from the Palmer School of Chiropractic, the very first chiropractic school in the world.
He was hired by Dr. B.J. Palmer, son of the discoverer of chiropractic, D.D. Palmer.

Thanks Dr. Heer for the nice plug. 😉
For readers of your blog that are interested, I also produced a CD for New Beginnings Chiropractic Weekends… and on that CD (Track 7) I talk about the Reagan-Chiropractic Connection and play actual footage of President Reagan addressing an audience retelling of his WOC audition. Plus, I talk a bit about the broadcast he did with Vin Scully of the 1989 All-Star Baseball game which took him back to his old WOC/WHO sports casting days.
